Spark Boosted the Boosters!

The March 6th Coffee & Canvas fundraiser for the MHS Band Boosters was a rousing success. Greenfield art teacher and Spark member Cathy Rivas led a full house in the acrylic and canvas painting of a field of wildflowers. The Booster’s proceeds will be used to help pay for the MHS Band’s annual trip to New York City.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS CRAFTS WORKSHOP WAS HUGE!

With the help of Sitterle Insurance Agency and McDonald’s of Greenfield the first annual Spark Creative Artspace Christmas Open Studio and Children’s Christmas Decorations Craft Workshop went wonderfully. Our doors were open for four hours and we saw a steady stream of kids and their parents join us for the many activities. Spark had five project stations setup with the necessary materials at each to creative an individualized tree ornament. Not only did the children make things to take home for their own tree they also made ornaments to help decorate Spark’s Christmas tree.

We want to thank all who took part and a special thanks to Sofia Burgess, Nate Cockerill and Tonya Roberts who worked side by side with the kids.

The Tree of Life Became a Forest

On November 6, 2015 Spark teamed up with the McClain Varsity Cheerleader Boosters for an evening of Wine & Canvas. A near capacity crowd appeared and enjoyed each other’s company while painting their version of Gustav Klimt’s classic Tree of Life. The tree of lifeproceeds were shared by both Spark and the Boosters and both groups want to express their appreciation for the support our area community continues to display.

Sprark’s next event will be an Open Studio and free Children’s Christmas Decoration Workshop on Saturday, December 5, noon till 4:00 pm at 251 Jefferson.

Young and old are welcome to stop by and take part. Children will be provided with materials and instructions on making unique decorations to both take home and to help decorate Spark’s Christmas Tree.

A nice selection of beverages and sweet treats will also be available.

Creating Family Heirlooms

On Saturday, October 31st Jayne Honnold held another of her sewing and quilting workshops at Spark Creative Artspace. The accompanying photo tells the story. A young girl holding her first self-made quilt, something that may become her passion in life or a creation that a may become a family’s heirloom. Something that future grandchildren may wrap up in and think about the love their grandmother left for them.
