Spark has teamed up with local Mexican restaurant, El Canon to celebrate the Mexican national holiday, Cinco de Mayo (5th of May). It marks the day a smaller Mexican force defeated the French at the Battle of Pueblo. This victory went on to rally the Mexican people in their struggle to cast out the imperialist French.
In America it has become a day to recognize and celebrate the contributions Mexican heritage and culture have added to the ever changing blend that is America.
To make the evening special Spark is working with El Canon to develope a few menu items not usually served while ensuring the regular menu will be available. I’m guessing there will also be a couple of special adult beverages to round out the uniqueness of the evening.
To pay back to the community they serve El Canon will be donating a generous portion of its profits back to help fund the many projects of Spark Creative Artspace. I’m sure Spark will be holding a 50/50 raffle and selling their extremely cook t-shirts.
Mark your calendar and bring the family to El Canon Mexican Restaurant & Cantina on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 1444 Jefferson St., Greenfield, OH. Times are 4-8 p.m.
